I hope you are having a lovely lovely day. As for me, I’m having a very good Monday and as wierd as I am, I actually LOVE Mondays. It’s the day I’m fully rested and ready for new things.
Talking about new things, how about a new post?
For some months back, I purchased 1 set of 3 products, have been using them for months now and so finally I feel like I can give you the review.
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail set.
– Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment
– Cell Renew Snail Essential Moisturizer
– Cell Renew Snail Cream
These are the ingredients of the Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment:
Water, Butylene Glycol, Snail Secretion Filtrate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Glycereth-26, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Alcohol, Adansonia Digitata Seed Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Niacinamide, Betaine, Sea Water, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-11 Methyl Ether Dimethicone, Acrylates/C10-31 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Adenosine, Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Chlorphenesin
So let me tell you about it.
First of all.. I use a toner first and then applying this after. The key ingredient in this treatment are:
Snail slime Extract: I’ve talked about using snails in products before. I’ll link it here. But to be short, snail slime is used to hydrate your skin, seals in moisture has a huge amount of hyaluronic acid and enhance skin healing. Amazing right?
Bao bao tree extract: Baobao is super rich in vitamin C, which boosts collagen production and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
Niacinamide: the holy grail ingredient for skin. It helps to even out uneven skintone, inproves acne, improves skin barrier function and soothes dry and irritated skin.
The texture of the treatment is thick and colourless. In goes on wet on my face and sinks in pretty fast but leaves my face still damp for the next steps.
It has SO MUCH alcohol and fragrance, too much for my liking although I continued to use it for months just for the review haha! The fragrance fades when I layer the next steps but it’s there, and very noticable.
Overall besides the fragrance and alcohol.. it’s nice. Especially during summer when my skin is very oily but still needs hydration. I don’t see much improvement on my skin overall other than the hydration part.
Cell Renew Essential Moisturizer:
Snail Slime Extract, Water, Glycereth-26, Butylene Glycol, Mango Seed Butter, Peg-32, Cyclomethicone, Niacinamide, Baobab Tree Extract, Butyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Ethoxy Glycol, Peg-20Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Betaine, Squalene, Deep Sea Water, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Adenosine, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf Extract, Sunflower Seed Oil, Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture, Polyacrylate-13, Cetyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Oleate, Polyisobutene, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Xanthan Gum, Octyldodecanol, Disodium Edta, Bht, Dimethiconol, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Glycerin, Perfume
This one has almost the same main ingredients as the treatment but the snail ingredient is the first on the ingredient list – which is freaking awesome! Alcohol ingredient is Cetyl Alcohol which is a fatty alcohol and isn’t as bad as the other harmful alcohols. Fragrance is the last on the ingredient list but boy oh boy… the scent is as strong as the treatment.
This moisturizer has a thick gel like creamy texture that was very pleasant while patting it on the skin, it gives you this glossy glassy look after applying which I know many of you love. I think it’s the best of these 3 products even though the amount of fragrance is almost unbearable.
Cell Renew Snail Cream.
Snail Secretion Filtrate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Adansonia Digitata Seed Extract, Arbutin, Bis-Peg-18, Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Peg-11 Methyl Ether Dimethicone, Sea Water, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ppg-26-Buteth-26, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Adenosine, Disodium Edta, Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance(Parfum), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene
This was more like a gel than a cream. It was transparent and oh boy…. the alcohol in this one isn’t to joke around with. The first scent you get while opening up this jar was… alcohol! It’s the 4th ingredient for heaven’s sake. So.. so sad for this beautiful cream to have that much amount of alcohol. Fragrance isn’t the last on the list either, which sucks.. because it smells like yummy sweet shots of vodka that you just applied to your face. I don’t want that.. that’s not my ideal cream. I used this for 1 month and I just couldn’t anymore, it was enough.
The gel texture is thick and went on very smoothly on your face. Sinks in very fast, almost too fast and does not leave you with a glow or anything. It did not make my face feel hydrated either.
Overall these 3 were OK I guess, I did feel like my face was hydrated when I used them during Summer but I’m pretty sure if I used them during Winter, my skin would scream. I love snail mucin as an ingredient and I love love baobao tree extract and niacinamide too but the alcohol and fragrance in these products killed it for me.
Here are my stars for them:
