The Double Cleanse Method.
Oil based cleanser
Using an oil based cleanser is the first step in the Double Cleanse Method cleansing “system”. You remove all dirt, make up, sunscreen and excess sebum by an oil based cleanser. By using an oil based cleanser, you remove everything in a very gentle way without stripping all and everything good in your skin. There are different oils that works perfectly to remove even waterproof make up, from 100% pure argan oil or Virgin Olive oil to the modern cleansing balms and oil cleansers that you see in the stores.
Why should you use an oil based cleanser?
Your eyes and neck are the first to show signs of aging, other from growing older and gravity working it’s thing, rubbing it harshly with make up remover cloths and cotton pads may cause wrinkles to form faster. That is why, using an oil cleanser you can just rub the oil onto your eyes gently to remove everything.
Oil cleansers does not dry out your skin as make up wipes, make up removers and micellar waters and still does the exact same thing.
How do you use an Oil cleanser?
You put the oil cleanser in the palm of your hands and rub it onto your face and neck when your face is completely dry. Don’t wash your face before putting the cleanser on because of science (oil and water don’t mix). Gently massage it on until your makeup dissolves and use water to wash everything off.
After using an oil cleanser, you need to wash everything with a water based cleanser. Hence why it is called the Double Cleansing Method.
Water based cleanser
Yes. Now comes the cleanser that most of you would recognise, the water based cleanser. It’s used to remove the oil based cleanser that you just used to remove your make up for a deeper cleansing. There’s not much to say about a water based cleanser since most of you already know what it is and how to use it. Although be gentle to your face always even when you wash it and be cautious about what kind of cleansers is most suitable for your skin.
The Decléor Double Cleanse Duo.
Decléor is known to use essential oils in their skincare and this can be good but also bad for some people.
Essential oils may cause irritations for some but for those who can handle it, it might be the best thing ever. From handling with anti-aging, acne, dehydration and so much more. Although it has so many benefits, some essential oils may break you out and be too harsh on your skin too.
The Bi-phase Caring Cleanser & Make up remover
It’s good. It removes the most of my make up and is very gentle on my skin. It’s consistency is almost like an oil mixed with water and is very watery which I think is pretty tricky because it runs down your hands if you don’t use a cotton pad to remove the make up. I think it’s a bit pointless if you make an oil cleanser that needs to use a cotton pad for.
I also need a huge amount to really remove waterproof make up, which I think means that there is too much water in the cleanser that it doesn’t let the oil do it’s “magic”.
When you wash it off with water. The oil is left behind and cannot be washed off with water alone, which is understandable but I wish it could be washed of a little bit more.
The Aroma Cleanse Essential Cleansing Milk:
So this is where I think it went wrong for me. I’m all for the milk cleansers but I don’t like to use a milk cleanser after an oil based cleanser. This one had the instructions to not wash it off but to use a cotton pad and wipe off the milk from your face and just, leave it on…. which I cannot stand so I washed it off anyway. I feel like the makeup and everything is left onto your face if you don’t wash it off with water.
The other thing that I don’t like about this cleanser is that it contains fragrance. The scent is lovely but it breaks me out.. which I think is really bad because I do enjoy it and the feeling my skin feels after it. It feels really hydrated and does not leave a tight feeling, which is good for a cleanser.
How does the duo work for me?
It does it work, but my skin is quite sensitive and it’s the kind can react to fragrance one day and not the other day. Somedays I feel like I pray for the fragrance to not react badly on my skin and it is like I’m taking a risk everytime I clean my face.
I used this for 1 month and I actually like the Bi-Phase Caring Cleansing & Make up remover even though I need a huge amount to take everything off. I found out that if I used another water based cleanser, then the process will be much easier and faster.
The Aroma Cleanse Essential Cleansing Milk is not my kind of cleanser at all. It breaks me out and I should not really take risks when it comes to my skin haha. So I will not continue to use this one.
Overall, I like one of them and not the other. I will rate them seperately.
The Bi-Phase Caring Cleansing & Make up remover gets 4 ⭐️
The Aroma Cleanse Essential Cleansing Milk gets 2 ⭐️
That’s it for this review. I hope it helps for those who are planning on buying it.
